Dems Need Honest Reckoning With Biden's Failed Presidency

The Cliff notes:
A disaster on that scale calls for at least some self-reflection. When dealing with a collective entity such as a political party, the minimum demand should be a thoroughgoing autopsy.
Yet, for a variety of reasons, Democrats have largely avoided even cursory introspection.
Pete Buttigieg said, “We’re also not in a position to wallow in hindsight. We’ve got to get ready for some fundamental tests for the future of the country and this party.”
The problem with Buttigieg’s refusal to “wallow in hindsight” is that for many voters the failure of the Biden presidency isn’t something that can easily be relegated to the past but remains a reason to distrust the Democratic Party.
Democrats won’t be able to win back the public unless they start talking frankly about what when wrong—and how party elites were implicated in the disaster.
