Evince is such a prolific poster here!

OOOOH he used the word KNEEGROW? Lets see how the rest of the black community took it. Oh look, the NAACP (shhhh CP stands for Colored People) still supports him, as does the congressional black caucus. I guess you righties are still just pissed that Lott had to go away cause he said the guy who's MAIN PLATFORM was segregation would have made the US a better place. Just like the German's that believe without the Holocaust Hitler had some really good ideas.

lol....and Socks states the obvious.....that's why we are engaged in this amusing debate....the double standard of the left.....is it just sinking in for you now?.....

is reid's comment "kinda" racist?

Yep; I've said about a dozen times that it's racist, and he should step down.

I don't try to tapdance around everything like you do. I have the courage of my convictions (hated the way you made me actually agree w/ Dixie on that...)

yeah, i guess its pretty stupid to ask people about their convictions and the full context of what someone said before making up your own mind if you don't already have convictions. how dare i question you and dixie so as to get more knowledge so i can make a more knowledgeable decision.

you are just like dixie. two peas in a pod. screaming and wailing if someone dares question you. i never took opposite sides, merely questioned you both on issues that bothered me from both sides.

thats because i'm honest, unlike you onceler. and i can clearly see it bothers you. pity.

Testy, testy! Still drinking the caffeinated, I see...

:)

no, he wasn't....i brought up the negro song and he ignored it and went after reid....how about actually answer the post he copied?

but since you two are going to whine like babies, i'll do the mature thing and not play who asked who first:

yes and not properly thought out

now, i expect you both to address the magic negro song. :)

Alrightie...

"Hello Magic Negro Song..."

There...I addressed it.

Actually I don't think either man was being racist when he used the term.

Lunkheaded?

Oh yeah.

Inarticulate??

Absolutely!

Let me digress for a second. There was an episode of the original Star Trek where Kirk met Abraham Lincoln. At one point, upon being introduced to Lt Uhura, President Lincoln exclaimed "My, what a charming Negress..."

As the show aired over and over in reruns, fans got debating whether what the Lincoln character said was racist. The consensus was that since Lincoln was a product of the 19th century, he was just using a generally accepted term and meant no offense.

I think the same happened to Rush and Reid. As is the Star Trek episode I referenced, they are both products of a different time and may come off as a bit insensitive, but I don't think Reid meant to demean African Americans in general, and although I think Rush was out to demean Obama, he wasn't trying to attack the entire race.

what about the RNC guy campaigning....because he distributed that CD he had to end his campaign because of media and national outrage

wouldn't you agree that is a double standard? the media and dems hardily DEFEND reid, but attack rush and the RNC guy....

Yeah, it's kinda racist.

I think Rush is kinda racist anyway; actually, I think most people are to a degree. But Rush is high profile, and he doesn't care if he puts himself out there that way.
You do know that Rush wasn't the originator of that phrase, right?
