LMFAO... Pinheaded League of Women Voters idiot tries to deny people the right to say the pledge of allegiance and gets her 'authority' thwarted!


What the fuck does she mean, she has "nothing for or against" the pledge? How can you have something AGAINST the pledge of allegiance? PINHEAD!

And who the fuck do you think you are, telling people they are "absolutely not" going to say the pledge, and then attempting to scold them like a school teacher when they do it anyway?

I don't say the pledge. It strikes me as so Fatherlandish. It's rare that I am in that situation, but I was this year twice. Once at a Mets Game, and once at a fancy business luncheon event. I just don't do it.

You know what always strikes me as weird? Once you've said the pledge, why do you have to keep saying it again & again?

A pledge is a pledge. It doesn't wear off....

That figures. Well Duhla, at least you aren't the typical hypocrite pinhead, who will recite it and just 'pantomime' the word "God" when it gets to that part.

To anyone who loves this country, how can you align yourself with people like this? People with so much disdain for what America stands for, they can't even bear to recite the pledge of allegiance, and in the case of Ms. Kathy Tate-Bradish, doesn't want anyone else to recite it in their presence either!

This week before the most important election of our lifetime, if you confront a liberal in the course of your day... put your hand over your heart, look them in the eye, and begin to recite the pledge of allegiance!
 
The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist, and the cousin of socialist utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898). Bellamy's original "Pledge of Allegiance" was published in the September 8th issue of the popular children's magazine The Youth's Companion as part of the National Public-School Celebration of Columbus Day, a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's discovery of America, conceived by James B. Upham.


Bellamy's original Pledge read:

"I Pledge Allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."


Under God Added in 1954
Louis A. Bowman (1872-1959) was the first to initiate the addition of "under God" to the Pledge in 1948. In 1951, the Knights of Columbus, the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization, in New York City felt that the pledge was incomplete without any reference to a deity. The final successful push came from George MacPherson Docherty, a Scottish-born American Presbyterian minister. Eisenhower signed the bill into law on Flag Day, June 14, 1954


The Bellamy Salute

An early version of the salute, adopted in 1892, was known as the Bellamy salute. It ended with the arm outstretched and the palm upwards. Because of the similarity between the Bellamy salute and the Nazi salute, President Franklin D. Roosevelt instituted the hand-over-the-heart gesture as the salute to be rendered by civilians during the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem in the United States, instead of the Bellamy salute. This was done when Congress officially adopted the Flag Code on June 22, 1942.

What is really NOT funny; Reverend Wright was slandered using sound bites and edited snippets that gave no context. It was edited for one intent. To slander and destroy a man that has done more for people than ANY of the right wing scum bags that slandered him, and to destroy Barrack Obama.

BUT...People that listened to Wright's whole 9/11 sermon, 'America's chickens are coming home top roost' find it is a very Christian message, and a message EVERY minster, priest and rabbi should have preached after 9/11. Wright called for self examination, and warned about people of faith moving from the hatred of armed enemies to the hatred of unarmed innocence.

And he was right. We invaded Iraq and thousands of innocent human being were slaughtered. But, the innocent Iraqis that were annihilated sure LOOKED like the people that attacked us.
