Experts: Drug-resistant staph deaths may surpass AIDS toll

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- More than 90,000 Americans get potentially deadly infections each year from a drug-resistant staph "superbug," the government reported Tuesday in its first overall estimate of invasive disease caused by the germ.


Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus can be carried by healthy people, living on the skin or in their noses.

Deaths tied to these infections may exceed those caused by AIDS, said one public health expert commenting on the new study. The report shows just how far one form of the staph germ has spread beyond its traditional hospital setting.............
 
Ironic isn't it that this killer germ was spawned in hospitals....

Better than a commercial for drumming up business.

You think the government created staph infections to kill kids in schools as well as AIDS? Or do you mean that you think they are pretending that is what those kids are dying from?

I'm not quite clear on that.
 
I think it is quite clear that AIDS was created to thin the population of Africa as well as gay communities world wide. I cannot believe you don't know that Damo.

Well, there are camps of people who believe that AIDS is entirely fabricated, that it doesn't exist at all.

I just needed to know which one he was in, the Conspiracy against Black people camp, or the "Pshaw! There is no AIDS!" camp.

If he is in the conspiracy against black people camp, I could see why, as staph infections are more likely in blacks than in whites or asians...

But if we thought that about every disease that effected one ethnicity more than another we'd have government creating sickle cell anemia, heart attacks, and other such things.
 
This is no joking matter...........

5 years ago I became infected with this Staph infection while be treated for a work related injury...had a back injury which became infected after my visit to a emergency hospital...the infection got into my spinal cord...had major surgery and 8 weeks of intensive anti-biotic treatment...it left me with mylopothy from the waist down...The doctors told my daughter I would probably never walk again...I fought hard and walk again! Thank God for giving me the will and ability to overcome this disease...so don't make light of it...as my doctors told me it can and does attack anyone if the conditions are right!

It was a challenge of life thrown at me and I overcame it...maybe I was lucky or maybe my faith intervened...at any rate it is not a disease to be taken lightly...My doctors told me it was rare...but it appeared as if it was mutating and more cases would probably appear...by this article it appears as if they were correct!

I'm not suggesting that government was necessarily involved, but I believe AIDS was created in a lab and I believe that this new infection may have been created in a lab.

Bird flu H5N1, was most probably also created in a lab ..

There is a long history of creating viruses and diseases as biological weapons and even testing them on innocent populations of citizens, even in America.

As we speak, the US is developing biological weapons, and the PNAC has called for "a biological weapon that could kill by genotype" ..

There is now medical/ biological speculation that the flu pandemic of the early 19 hundreds as well as sars et al...was brought to earth via a comet!...are you now saying that governments control comets?

You say that as if there is conclusive evidence that comets were indeed the source.

"We have no scientific evidence that SARS or any other infectious disease has dropped off a meteor at this point in time," Julie Gerberding, director of the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a recent briefing. "Should we discover any evidence supportive of that, we would let you know." Gerberding said SARS is most explainable by natural evolution of coronaviruses, either from an animal or a poultry source, or possibly a coronavirus that's evolved in a human. "We have many hypotheses that are far more plausible than meteorites," she said.

But hey .. perhaps it was a comet that is hiding Saddam's WMD.
 
Obviously the universe is only 6,000 light years in radius with the earth at the center ;)
Otherwise how could we see the stars ?
