A black man named Vick goes to prison for three years for killing a dog.
A white man named Zimmerman gets his life and gun back.
America worships dogs the way ancient Egyptians worshipped cats. Vick picked the wrong crime to commit in this country.
These situations are not remotely comparable. What Vick did was deplorable & there was no doubt whatsoever about his involvement, the evidence & his intent.
By comparison, the GZ case was wrought with doubt & conflicting testimony. Even on the board, the best anyone could muster was that it seemed like more people heard something one way than the other - but the prosecution was never able to remove the idea of reasonable doubt.
So, what Zimmermanbwas not deplorable, bad way to word it, Thing1.
Too bad white America can't muster the same level of outrage for the black man killed they managed when a couple dogs got killed.
I hated what he did, but never for a second did I believe that he set out to kill another human being that day. His intent was not deplorable, imo.
When I first heard the GZ tape, it sounded completely cut & dry. But clearly, circumstances were much more ambiguous. People believed what they wanted to in this case - but anyone who pretended that the evidence backed them up 100% is delusional.
Killing is deplorable, I am disappointed you don't think it is as well.
How many other murders of black men this weekend did you get outraged over Zap?
Every one I read about, there are those of us that are aware of this plight. I am also aware of gang violence amongst the Samoans in my state. It is different races in every state, but the facts that don't change is that they are male and younger than 35.
with the injuries that zimmerman received, wouldn't it be extremely difficult to prove that zimmerman is liable for his death? It will be interesting to see the wrongful death suit that will be coming. Zimmerman will not be allowed to take the fifth, because he will never again be tried to Martin's death. There is no danger of a perjury charge because Zimmerman never testified. I don't think he will confess to anything, but it will be interesting to see if he testimony in the civil case will remain "consistent" with his statements in the past.
there she is.....miss congenialitySometimes all it takes is reading about how a black man, simply defending himself from an attacker, gets arrested for defending himself with his fists while a coward with a gun kills someone and doesn't even see the inside of a jail until public outcry becomes too great for local sheriffs to handle:
there she is.....miss congeniality
you are nothing but a simple assed liar. you went straight for the insults because someone needed a gun for self defense, so you called them a coward. you've been exposed as a liar and hypocrite.Unable to discuss the points I raise in my post, the uninformed, angry Rightie detours right for the petty ad homs once again.
