Fascist Madman in the White House

Do you honestly believe politely asking Denmark for Greenland would get you anywhere
Do you honestly believe that rudely threatening it will get trump anywhere?

We bought the Danish Virgin Islands by politely asking, and convincing the people of the Danish Virgin Islands to want to be American. Now it is the US Virgin Islands. No need to invade anyone.

trump's loud threats are not going to convince the Greenlanders to want to be American, and trump's offers have been insultingly bad. It would cost several trillion dollars to make a legitimate offer for Greenland, and trump is not willing to do that. Denmark will not force the Greenlanders to be American.

As the wise man said, "They ain't called MAGA morons for nuthin'!"

Oh, Wally, you're confused as usual. Trump has been nice as pie to Greenlanders; it's Denmark that Trump has been less flattering toward. He and everyone with common sense know that Denmark would rather give Greenland to China than sell it (if they owned it) to us. Denmark's leadership makes you look like a right-winger in a MAGA hat, they're super liberal. We'll see about the people of Greenland. I'm guessing they'd love to make a sweet deal with Trump and become partners with us, if not full-fledged Americans. And yes, I've seen the fake polls. Time will tell.

A deal would run in the trillions, and I am unsure how America could pay trillions. We could not do it with our own currency, because we could inflate that away. trump would need to hand over the right to tax Americans to Denmark, or something.

wtf.

are you saying americans aren;t good for the national debt?

does anyone else know?

I don't think we’d just slap a price tag on Greenland and cut a check for the residents to split or stay and pay rent. I think the idea is to strike a deal based on percentages of the minerals we’re best equipped to mine efficiently. I’d bet the citizens would get a solid chunk of the profits from processing rare earth minerals. When faced with a lucrative deal, like most people, they'll listen.

It's no different than a big construction company teaming up with a landowner who’s got prime gravel on their property. The landowner doesn’t have the gear to dig it up or process it, so they partner with someone who does, splitting the profits from the gravel that’s sold. I’m confident the U.S. would offer Greenland’s residents a better deal than anyone else. There might be some upfront cash as a good-faith gesture, but we’re not talking trillions.

I am saying that we give buyers of the national debt a choice over whether we are good for it or not. You want to require the Greenlanders to give us a huge loan, and we certainly have not been good at paying our indigenous people's debts.

OK, so you want the Greenlanders to give the USA all their land, and to finance the purchase themselves? And then to count on our courts to make sure they get paid? And you think they do not know about how indigenous rights have been removed from our laws by right wingnuts?

All land in Greenland is jointly owned. If we make Greenland part of the USA, then all Greenland will belong to all 340 million Americans, with Greenlanders effectively only having the rights to less than 0.02%.

I think the idea is to strike a deal based on percentages of the minerals we’re best equipped to mine efficiently.
The current deals have a royalties plus drilling rights fee, and the Greenlanders have been very willing to make deals. Why would either side want to change that?

You're out here swinging at windmills with the reading comprehension of a distracted toddler. Let's revisit that landowner construction company example I spoon-fed you. Did I even hint that the landowner was selling their land? Nope. A fourth-grader with half a brain, y'know, the ones not destined to be future libtard apologists, would've clocked that deal as a partnership, not a sale. But you? You're flunking basic logic like it's your day job.

The rest of your brain-dead drivel isn't worth the pixels it's displayed on. I tried, I really did, to keep this civil, but conversing with you is like debating a Roomba stuck in a corner. You're not just wrong, you're consistently wrong, with the swagger of a peacock who thinks it's Einstein.
