I find it strange that the FBI is having so much trouble figuring out this guys motive
1) He belongs to all sorts of alt left groups
2) His Facebook page is loaded with anti GOP hate speech
3) He is a mega fan of Rachel Maddow
4) He moved to the Virginia area ironically right after the NY Times published an article highlighting for everyone where the GOP practiced its baseball games (does this make them an accessory?). I mean how many people know where the GOP practices their baseball game?

5) Before shooting he specifically asked whether it was democrats or republicans practicing
