FBI: al-Qaeda detainee spoke of fire plot
PHOENIX (AP) — The FBI alerted law enforcement agencies last month that an al-Qaeda terrorist now in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States.
Rose Davis, a spokeswoman for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, told The Associated Press that officials there took note of the warning but didn't see a need to act further on it.

The contents of the June 25 memo from the FBI's Denver office were reported Friday by The Arizona Republic. Davis declined to share a copy of the memo and an FBI spokeswoman in Denver didn't immediately return a telephone call.

many things Terrorists can do to us. Poision our water supplies, blos up natural gaslines to the NE during winter. blow up train trestles or interstate bridges, sports arena terrorism of many types, Poision or petfood, lead paint on our childrens toys, Put Rush limbaugh on PBS, etc...
We are not secure, Vote for Bush again!!!
 
I wonder what happens if this turns out to be terror (i don't think it is) and Bush just let it happen again..

Actually if it was terror we'd never know because they would cover it up so that they could keep saying we haven't been attacked since 9/11.....
 
Not only could terrorists be setting fires but has anyone given thought to why there is so little rain?

There's a serious drought happening all over the country and perhaps we should FEAR that the terrorists are holding the rain hostage.

I had better get to drawing a cartoon then. I hear it makes them so mad that they would riot and let the rain god go.
 
LOL, I love the humor.

In WW2, the Japanese went so far as to build a submarine that could launch a seaplane. The purpose was to drop incendiaries on the forests in the Pacific northwest. I don't recall if the plane ever did fly its mission.

(Edit)- I looked it up. The plane flew the mission and dropped on the forest near Mt. Emily, Oregon. The result was a small fire. The majority of the bombs were duds.

The Japanese also had baloons with fire bombs on them the floated all the way accross the pacific and caused a fair bit of fires and havoc. Some of the firebombs have been found in recent years.
