This morning, after feeding the month old, he fell asleep. So I put him to rest in his crib.
Usually he does not sleep after this Feed so I lay him down in his playmat/entertainment center.
Today, the crib.

A large(7'by 3") mirror fell a few seconds later, no warning, it had been mounted on the wall for a few years.
Crashing and breaking on top of the playmat, shattering on the superstructure.
A large chunk of mirrored glass fell in such a position that if I had not made the decision to put him in his crib, he would have died, been dismembered and killed!!

The horror of what was avoided, by a random decision is terrifying to me.
It's just terrifying to think about it.

I didn't mount it.
But it was the factory installed bracket on the mirrors frame that gave out, not the mounting bracket.

I hired a contractor to mount it.
The mounting brackets, as I already posted remain in tact.

It was the mounting device on the mirror that failed, after several years.
