Most rational people already knew this would happen, but my question is…..How many heard about this on the mainstream media?

Don’t look now – seriously, the media really does not want you to look – but Finland, the “Democratic” Socialists’ most favored nation, their example of the country America should emulate, just saw its government collapse and its Prime Minister and Cabinet resign due to the unsustainable costs of universal health care. This happened last week. Did you hear about it in the news? Didn’t think so.

....

This comes less than a year after Finland killed its experiment with a “universal basic income,” replacing it with mandatory job training and work requirements for people on government benefits.

Bernie's model is not the exact replica if the Finnish model and it appears that their problem is the shrinking young population and not having a centralized system.

LOL. I would predict that some modern socialist would come in and say, "It didn't work because they didn't implement it right, but we'll do it right because we have the magic touch, here's his plan!" But they've already done it.

Of course, the BBC article is somewhat more nuanced than the article from your right-wing propaganda mill.

Yep. The truth is, the center right govt just quit because they couldn't reform healthcare. The govt. didn't 'collapse'.

May called for you. Wanted its old story about Finland back. That didn't happen just last week.

Breaking: the gov't collapsed because it couldn't get its reforms through Parliament. It's not a big deal, as Finland's health care system is still going, and a new gov't reformed.

he Washington Free Beacon continues:

Reuters reports that soaring treatment costs and longer life spans have particularly affected Nordic countries.

“Nordic countries, where comprehensive welfare is the cornerstone of the social model, have been among the most affected,” according to Reuters. “But reform has been controversial and, in Finland, plans to cut costs and boost efficiency have stalled for years.”

Similar problems are bedeviling Sweden and Denmark, two other countries frequently held up as models to follow on health care. Finland’s crisis in particular comes as calls for universal health care have grown louder among Democrats in the United States

If longer life spans are the problem, sounds like we should emulate their system.

I'm sure most at the BBC were just as disappointed as you were about yet another socialistic failure.

I guess my report would've been just as subdued as the BBC's, if I were also a diaper wearing socialist. ;)

Fun that an admitted lifelong Marxist like you would miss the fact that the OP's claim has been debunked.

So true. What the clowns running for the DNC nomination would do would be far worse than what is happening in many countries with Socialist controlled healthcare.

The collapse of the government comes just one month before parliamentary elections are due, after Sipila failed to push through the reforms. The changes were crucial to the three-party governing coalition’s plan to balance public finances.

Financial constraints are colliding with the healthcare costs imposed by Finland’s fast-ageing population. But cutting those costs is a major political obstacle in a Nordic country that historically has provided an extensive -- and expensive -- healthcare system.
