A Florida Senate panel on Thursday revamped a bill aimed at keeping children under age 16 off social media, as a debate continued about the proposal’s constitutionality and whether it would infringe on parental rights. House Speaker Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast, has made the bill (HB 1) a priority, arguing that social media is harming the mental health of children. The Senate Fiscal Policy Committee on Thursday approved a series of changes that were supported by Renner, readying the bill to go to the full Senate. Two issues seem to be raised to oppose this law. One is the Constitutionality. Don't Children have the same rights as adults. Of course not. A twelve-year-old cannot get married. Even if he/she is really, really in love. No. The law will not allow a marriage and any sexual contact will be viewed as a criminal act. I know there are those who believe children should vote, children should decide if they wish to become eunuchs, and children should be allowed to have sex with adults. Those people are called Democrats and/or pedophiles. But, can't the parents decide? No. If a pedophile offers a couple $5,000,000 to have their five-year-old as a bride he'll need the DOJ to run cover for him and the parents because it's illegal.

Now, consider how many illegal sexual encounters between teachers and students were initiated or involved social media? Consider how many stings result in the arrest of pedophiles who believe they're dealing with children on the internet? If a gay bar had a special from 3pm to 5pm when the alcohol is locked up and only soft drinks and fruit juices are served so children can come in after school, do you think that would be tolerated?
