Fly the Friendly Skies...

The crazy shit is United stock has actually gone up. Stockbrokers noticed that United's flight was overbooked and bought their Stock! LOL Only in America. LOL You gotta love this country. :)

United says the flight — where a man was dragged off, screaming — was not overbooked

Some excerpts:

"United Airlines clarified Tuesday that the flight in which a man was dragged off, screaming, Sunday was not overbooked.
According to USA Today, United and its regional affiliate, Republic Airlines, which operated the flight, needed to remove four passengers to accommodate crew members who needed to be in Louisville on Monday. United had initially said the flight was overbooked."

"One of the officers involved in the incident was placed on leave pending an investigation. But international outrage*continued Tuesday, with United’s*stock price falling,*memes exploding*and disturbing videos of the incident shared across the world."

"In China, where United bills itself as a top carrier,*tens of millions of people*have read or shared a report that the passenger claimed he was targeted for being Chinese. Many there are now echoing calls in the United States for a boycott."

"In early trading*Tuesday morning, United*had lost hundreds of millions of dollars in market*capital,*according to MarketWatch.*“How to make a PR crisis a total disaster,” was the*headline on a CNN storyabout United’s response to the incident."

"“Can’t they rent a car for the pilots?” a woman asks in the videos."

"So the airline called the Chicago Department of Aviation, which handles security at O’Hare."

"When the man was gone and all four seats were free, Bridges said, the four stranded crew members*boarded and took them.
They were jeered, he recalled: “People were saying you should be ashamed to work for this company.”"

"A group of high school students stood up and left the plane at that point, Bridges said. “They don’t need to see this anymore,” their escort explained*to other passengers."

"Tuesday morning, as the CEO’s defensive letter spread online, a petition calling for Munoz’s resignation had*thousands of backers. And*United’s stock fell more than 3*percent at one point in*morning*trading, recovering slightly by the afternoon."

If it's discovered that this guy is a Doctor, everyone can expect this to become even more of a mess.

Update:
Just read an article where it stated that he is a Doctor in Kentucky.

Update:
Just read an article where it stated that he is a Doctor in Kentucky.
He also prescribed drugs in return for gay sex.

Which has exactly what to do with his being abused and publically humiliated?
Wind your neck in son, he is also reported to have been on anger management courses and have control issues. However the more salient point is that all US airlines do it and United is not even the worst.
I would imagine that airlines defend the practice by saying that prices would have to go up otherwise.

Overbooking their flights sure? Opening a can of whoop ass on a paying customer? Not so much.

My point is that the man did nothing worthy of getting his ass kicked other than refusing to volunteer. His past history has nothing at all to do with being treated respectfully and not being abused and beaten in public because of a disagreement.
The fact that the journalist are attacking this mans character is simply disgusting as his character has not a thing to do with what happened. The claims of his being belligerent and disruptive are completely obliterated by the video evidence.

Yes dragging him bodily from the plane is not great from a PR point of view. However it's pretty obvious that he overreacted big time, he should have just accepted it and made sure he got a shedload of compensation.

Uh Oh....things swung the other way. United lost about 255 million today. I hear this isn't playing well in Asia at all. LOL If Asia loves one thing it's a good drama. My guess is that the young cop you jerked his ass out of seat was probably a Chicago local street beat cop and forgot where he was when he snatched the dude. He made a bad situation worse by using violence. Yet the young cop knows jack shit about the games the Airline people were playing with these paid passengers when he gets on that plane. He just knows a passenger has been evicted from the plane and won't leave. So he goes in there asks the guy once "to leave" and then jerks his ass out of the chair. He was actually pretty efficient. He got the guy in the aisle and then dragged him off without actually killing him. No mean feat in a crowded airplane. I was impressed with how efficiently they removed him but he also made it easy for them.

OK, so the cop probably could have used a little more patience and used psychology, i.e fear, persuasion, etc., to get the guy off the plane. Instead he goes into "West Englewood Street" mode and jacked the dude out of the plane. Poor slob of a cop has no clue what he's just done. To top that off he picks a complete drama princess to bust ass on. Pure drama enfolds and the poor ground pounder is now knee deep in the deepest shit.

The cops will, and rightfully so, blame United for putting them into the shit for doing a beat down on a civilian. In fact it would be English level of understatement that the cops are not the least bit happy with United either. They trust United to be trustworthy. I can imagine the Chicago Cops are not happy with United at all.

But the beauty of it all is it's a completely absurd soap opera and they will eat this shit up in Asia...particularly China. I bet their comedians have a lot of fun with this. :)
