Fool me once....

Taichiliberal

Shaken, not stirred!
Former Vice President Dick Cheney to FormerTreasury Secretary Paul O'Neill in 2002.

"You know, Paul, Reagan proved deficits don't matter," he said, according to excerpts. Cheney continued: "We won the midterms (congressional elections). This is our due."

I seem to recall the GOP wailing that if unemployment was extended, the deficit would balloon....if the Bush tax cuts were allowed to sunset, then jobs wouldn't be created, and the deficit would continue to grow.

Well, now that it seems that the rich will keep their additional $100 thousands or millions, their minions in the Senate and Congress don't give a rat's ass about extended unemployment and deficits, and are trying to paint themselves as looking out for the welfare of the people.

Fool me once....

you know, I looked at the title to this thread and thought a bit......said to myself, "given how easy it is to fool Touchie, what do you suppose this thread's about"....made some guesses.........turned out I was wrong.....

Even O'Neill couldn't stomach the voodoo economics in that administration and quit. Good for him, he was way too principled for those crooks.

Who's being fooled?

Stimulating Hypocrisy: 114 Lawmakers Block Recovery While Taking Credit For Its Success

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) Said Stimulus Funds Would Create “Much Needed Jobs.” Minority Leader Boehner: “The stated intent of the so-called stimulus package was to create jobs, and certainly a $57 million slush-fund studying projects did nothing to achieve that goal. With Ohio’s unemployment rate the highest it’s been in 25 years, I’m pleased that federal officials stepped in to order Ohio to use all of its construction dollars for shovel-ready projects that will create much-needed jobs.” [Boehner Statement, 6/15/09]

-Congressman Boehner Voted Against The Recovery Package Twice [Roll Call Vote #46; Roll Call Vote #70]

-Congressman Boehner Regularly Blasts The Stimulus And Instructed His Caucus To Oppose It. [Huffington Post, 1/27/09]

Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) Held A Job Fair Where Nearly Half The 30 Organizations Received Stimulus Funds; Cantor Also Supported Using Stimulus Funds To Build A Washington To Richmond Rail. Washington Post: “For months, Democrats have dubbed U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia a hypocrite for strongly opposing the federal stimulus package only to promote aspects of it later. Here’s the latest example: Nearly half of the 30 organizations participating in a job fair Cantor is holding Monday in Culpeper were recipients of the stimulus…In the summer, Cantor came under fire after he talked about his support of using stimulus money to build a rail project from Washington to Richmond.” [Washington Post Virginia Blog, 11/18/09]

Republicons know that the ignorance of their voters is Republicon strength.
Do you understand this? Didn't think so, even when you see it with your own eyes.

:palm: I keep forgetting that your cognitive reasoning skills are limited, so let me dumb it down for you: The old saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me."

Now, armed with this new knowledge, go back and read the quote I open this thread with, and then compare it to what the neocon driven GOP has been selling to the American public regarding the deficit, budget and tax breaks.

And if you still don't get it, ask an adult you trust to explain it to you. Or, you can just spew neocon sour grapes as usual. Carry on.

Oh he understands; PMP is just too stubborn and intellectually dishonest to admit his errors on something as anonymous as this board.

you have nothing to say, so why repeat it.

It's a typical neocon parrot ploy, Crash. When they come across irrefutable facts that don't fit into their political/social belief system, they either go on a slam fest against the author of the thread/post ..... or they try to hijack the thread with a sea of mindless personal arguments, distortions, false allegations and nit picking dodges that has nothing to do with the subject title/opening post.

I know, but there should be a corollary.....what does it mean that you're always a fool?........

what are the tea party caucus saying about all the spending?

I havent heard a damned peep from them.

IF Cantor did as claimed, then its fair to claim he acted like a hypocrite, so I agree.

Oh, the teabaggers are just totally befuddled....they just realized that they put into office a bunch of neocon GOP sycophants. No more free rides from Freedomworks...and I bet dollars to donuts you'll seldom here the phrase "Tea Party" from the likes of Limbaugh and Beck in the near future. If the rest of the country didn't have to suffer for their idiocy, it would be hysterical.

So your half right....

:palm: Your attempt at revisionism is extraordinary, Bravo.
No matter how you slice it, Boehner voices approval of a package that he points out would help his state....then he votes against it.

And there is no "if" about what Cantor did...it's a matter of fact and history.

Bottom line: the neocon driven GOP are ONCE AGAIN shoveling the double talk and wiping their fianancial feet on jokers like you, Bravo....because they know how to play to teabagging/oather/birther/neocon willful ignorance and stubborn pride.

I'd laugh if the rest of the country didn't have to suffer the consequences along with you.
