For anyone interested in the senate race in MA..

Chapdog

Abreast of the situations
Scott brown absolutely slaughtered Martha coakly last night in the debate. Not even close. I cant believe that this seat is in jeopardy for the democrats in this state. The ramifications would be rediculous.

Which one is the incumbent?

There isn't one. It's the seat vacated by Teddy Kennedy.

And Chap, I watched the debate. I'm not sure what you were watching but where I was sitting Brown was totally outclassed by Coakley. He came across as a complete asshole.

no way.. everyone thinks brown won.. local news, the comments on boston.com.. only people that think she won are the democrat leaning analysts on the globe... this going to be a close election. I still think she can pull it off. my guess is by less then a 10% margin.

Scott Brown is barely single digits away, the latest poll shows him 9 points back. Are you seriously saying this is competitive?

LOL. Nigel is a Democratic-leaning analyst...

:D

Im glad to see its a real race...

Just shows the Democrats of MA are not so die hard Democrat only as people once opined.

It appears the Kennedy trance is broken!

Well, if the "comments on boston.com" say so . . .

Who with a real name (as opposed to some commentors on boston.com) thinks Brown won? Give me a link or two, I'd like to see the analysis.

And the most hilarious line of the night had to be that canned "I'm Scott Brown. I live in a trailer down by the river. I drive a truck and it has a lot of miles on it. I keep it well-maintained like my sculpted body for when I pose nude in Cosmo."

The polls are all over the place depending on likely voter models. One Democrat affiliated polling firm had Brown up by one point not too long ago. The Coakley camp is getting nervous.

In a special election its very hard to predect who will turn out on election day.

Very cool. It's always exciting to watch the close ones. Especially in states where close ones are rare. I guess it's time to start paying attention, I just figured whatever D was anointed would walk in.

I figured the same thing, but I am glad to see its going to be a race..!

Not saying what this means.. BUT... generally the surveys for elections in MA are heavily favored toward dems on this media outlet... the surveys are almost always a landslide for the dems.

I would say that for the Republican candidate in Massachusetts to even be mentioned in the local papers, it must be "competitive".......

PublicPolicy has Brown one point in the lead, though most other polls show him up to nine points back....

at the beginning of campaigning Coakley held a thirty point lead....

I will be voting for a republican for the first time, mostly to stick it to the democrats in massachusetts :)
