That's not enough to sustain a living in this country. That would only pay rent...

We have to do the math and accounting, because 2 grand a month would be on top of food stamps assistance and unemployment benefits. I suspect when all those benefits are tabulated the total benefit is well North of 3k a month.

That's the gamble you make. All Businesses may not come back. New Business may emerge. 'Drive Up/Take Out' might become more popular?

The problem is we gave the money to corporations instead of the people.
CA is giving those who file for unemployment an additional 600 a wk for a few months. The most you can get on UE in CA is 450 a week and you still pay taxes on that. So they get and additional 650 a week which is 4,2 a month. They may or may not qualify for food stamp assistance if they do, that is miminal and reserved for those who receive welfare benefits. Welfare benefits have not changed due to the virus.
So yea, we can afford to give those who lost their jobs and 4K a month for a few months.

The states need to pay more in unemployment and food stamps instead of giving all the money to corporations and business small and large. There should be free healthcare for all.

Let the fucking airlines and cruiselines file for bankruptcy. I'm sick of us handing taxpayer money over to companies during times of crisis only for them to pad CEO bonuses. They were given a chance in 09, they peed on the carpet. No more treats.
