Free Market Alternative to Liberal Expansion of War on Drugs with Tobacco

Rather than ban smoking in people's own homes as Liberal places are doing in Cali and elsewhere, instead as consumer demand naturally changes to more people wanting to live in smoke free buildings, there are more and more real estate companies banning smoking.

This is the right way to go about having better health, because there is still choice, smokers have places to live for where they want to smoke and not face a complete citywide ban and be forced to face the Liberal government hand of fines and imprisonment if they refused to pay.

And non-smokers have choices in places they want to live.

dano are you kidding me, your conservative icon (reagan) initiated the very costly "war on drugs" and DARE education which costs millions and billions of dollars.

This makes little sense in a thread about choices on where to live based on tobacco consumption.

ban tabacco totally as part of universal healthcare
include in the bill those farmers get to sell legalized medical marijuana.

True enough, but not relevant to this. The right may not be changing anything but it is the left that is expanding the drug war into involving tobacco.

This is not a blame game, but an alternative idea proposed that is working fine so far.

the war on tabacco is more a medical FDA question than war on drugs.
War on drugs is a weak ass attempt at double speak and would get crushed if any real politician picked up on it. Not that the right has any real contendors.

I don't think it is just liberals doing this.

A tobacco banning resolution was passed by a vast majority of Arizonans...a red state.

If the free market had already come up with an alternative why would we need the government to do something about it?

Maybe it's because the free market hasn't done it well?

Whose "we"? It was only some extreme Liberals in Cali who don't respect freedom and banned it without thinking of the consequences with people not having anywhere realistic to smoke cigarettes.

The free market is fine, it's not for you or any of the other lefties deluded as thinking they have the vision of the annointed to step in and decide for everyone.

That would be a symptom of it being a less red state now. I mean it's not like a Liberal like Napolitano got in power because Conservatives joined up with the Liberals.
It's Liberals attracting enough mushy-minded middlish people to sign on to their leftwing ideas and policies.

Yeah I said that. Nevertheless from this site, to the cities involved, to the politicians involved, Liberals are overwhelmingly responsible for this.

Red KY and NC (homes of Tobacco) are both being made anti Smoking...

In Red KY Fletch and MItch are letting the health Depts do it on a county by county basis.
Some power granted to the health depts by a republican guv...
