Gallego defeats Lake in Arizona Senate race

We fight, We win
Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) is projected to beat Republican Kari Lake in a consequential race for Arizona Senate, dealing the former local news anchor her second straight electoral loss, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Gallego, who has served in the House for nearly a decade representing a Phoenix-based House seat, will succeed outgoing Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.). Sinema opted against reelection after changing her political affiliation from Democrat to Independent last year, as Sinema faced steep odds in getting reelected.

Please don't tell me that was close.

I already have a low enough opinion of the American electorate.

The best thing about Lake is that she's less nutty than MTG.

TRUMP WINS ARIZONA, and already has Senate majority.
We do, which is good!. But Senate seats are precious, and there’s no guarantee we keep our majority in two years, so having a real good chance to win this win one expect for the fact that we ran an almost unelectable candidate is no bueno.

As an AZ resident, I just want to say....

As an Arizona resident, I saw this race as a Hobson's choice between a Right-wing nut job and a Left wing yes man. Either way, Arizona was screwed. But maybe Ruben will be like Krystin Sinema and move towards the center and stop voting in lockstep with the radical Left of his party (yes, his voting record is 100 % doing just that).

Oh, and Zen, if you ever want to do an FTF I'm up for that. I enjoy putting faces to names and such discussions.
