Not when the mockery imitates the original closely. Good mockery changes things up enough to make it original but still connected to that original. Derivative is the word for what Newsome did. It was too over the top and that makes it too obvious.
Better, he does something like gets the award from the World 43 Man Squamish Association presented by the Harvard 43-man Squamish team (they actually had one) where he makes sniveling, trolling remarks about it. The whole should only (strongly) imply that this is a parody of Trump's award without actually ever coming straight out and saying it. Instead of over the top, the award, the sport, those awarding it, are all so forgotten and trivial that people are going "Forty-three man squamish? WTF is that?" Get a whole squamish team in the background and make it ridiculous. That will make a better parody.
