In the 1920's Singer and actor Al Jolson starred in the movie "The Jazz Singer" in which he famously painted his face black in order to be able to sing Jazz at a negro club.
A hundred years later, we are told to be "outraged" at this bit of "cultural appropriation."
Yet those who scream loudly about the idea that a white person would don "black face" have absolutely no issue with a man putting on make up, wearing a dress, and pretending to be a woman.
But those who put on black face for comedy routines or movies didn't actually demand that others accept them as black (Rachel Dolenz aside).
Yet with gender appropriation, laws are passed forcing all to pretend along and agree that those who demean actual women be treated as if they really were women.
Why do we accept gender appropriation by men?
Scumbag gender appropriator Dylan Mulvany wants to put people in jail if they don't praise his mockery of women.
Note: There is a twitter link above, though Twitter usually doesn't link correctly on this board for me.
