Germany tells UN: Nord Stream inquiry found subsea explosive traces on yacht

I've always believed that Ukraine special forces attacked the pipelines.

UNITED NATIONS, July 11 (Reuters) - Germany found traces of subsea explosives in samples taken from a yacht that it suspects "may have been used to transport the explosives" to blow up the Nord Stream gas pipelines, it told the U.N. Security Council in a letter with Sweden and Denmark.

A series of unexplained explosions hit the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines connecting Russia and Germany under the Baltic Sea last September in the exclusive economic zones of Germany, Sweden and Denmark.

The trio are each conducting separate investigations and sent an update - seen by Reuters - ahead of a meeting of the 15-member Security Council on Tuesday called by Russia, which has complained that it has not been kept informed about the probes.

"None of the investigations has been concluded and at this point, it is still not possible to say when they will be concluded. The nature of the acts of sabotage is unprecedented and the investigations are complex," the three wrote in a joint letter, dated Monday, which included an update on each inquiry.

So what's your take on it?

I believe I said at the time that this was almost certainly a CIA project, and nothing has come to light to change my mind. I have heard it said that there is no way the Ukrainians could be trained to do this, it is too complicated, which I take as an insult to Ukrainians.

I've always thought America did it.

The CIA may have trained them and given information to them but they would never risk agents being captured.

That would be a political nightmare for Biden.

Right, and this is how the CIA often operates. Was it Ukrainians they trained for this IDK but I very much doubt that this was not CIA.

The CIA doesn't really specialize in sabotage missions, the special forces do.

The CIA is primarily an information gathering system today.

Today the spy vs. spy thing is pretty much over.

Also, there's no reason Ukraine couldn't pull this off themselves.

It's not like they don't know the place.

Especially now with all the whistleblower things coming out it's doubtful any president would risk that.

It would make us directly involved in the war.

No they're not. You're thinking of the NSA, the CIA gets down and durty.

Having said that, they didn't blow up the pipeline. I think our government contracted some private sector talent for that job.

Um No......that is only part of what they do.....and they do the information collection extremely badly.

There are not that many people who know how to blow underwater gas lines and have the right explosives to do it, the chances that the Ukrainians did this without American assistance are about zero in my book.

You put on a scuba tank and attach an explosive to a pipe.

Not very complicated lol

Yes exactly, the Ukrainians and Poles are more than capable of doing this, why would you think otherwise? Ukraine nearly destroyed the Kerch Bridge ffs!!!

Exactly, America is not the only nation with expertise in this sort of thing.

The French are masters at sabotage.

So are many middle eastern nations.

Hell, I would put the Vietnamese ahead of us in terms of sabotage.

Mossad could do it.
