Just one day after 15 Pennsylvania House Republicans sent a letter to acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman demanding to know why 240,000 unverified ballots had been mailed out (“which, according to the law, must be set aside and not counted for the 2022 General Election unless the voter produces lD,” the lawmakers wrote), Chapman revealed that there will likely be delays posting the results after the midterm elections."

What is an unverified ballot? In order for a vote to be counted, the person's name has to be in his precinct logbook. The signature is compared. If the vote is accepted, the person is marked as voted. How do you think extraneous ballots can be counted? It is amazing how rightys are so easily fooled. You believe it, because you want to. Take time to learn something. I have volunteered at elections before.
 
The latest issue centers around a large number of unverified mail-in or absentee ballots. Those are ballots that are sent to voters who failed to include proof of identification such as a driver’s license or Social Security number on the ballot application.

As of Tuesday morning, Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman said out of the more than 1.4 million mailed ballots that have been requested by Pennsylvania voters, about 7,400 of them require verification before they can be counted.

I also collected voter registrations a couple of times. You got their ID and proof at that time. Then you send them to the election commission which verified or rejected them. Then . if passed, they were sent an ID card to vote and assigned a precinct to vote in. Then their name was put in the precinct logbook. Spurious ballots will not be counted.
