Yet another thread on Global warming.

People? Dont you find it odd that these emails were outed right before a major summit on climate change? Talk about perfect timing. They say nothing in politics happens by accident and this is no exception.

It would make sense for the oil companies to finance the company(CRU) that collected the data to make it seem they were manipulating data and then "convieniently" outing them at the perfect time.

These Elites have very steep pockets and can afford to play both sides of every coin and when they want one side to lose? They have one of their people plant something to discredit the side they want to crumble.

It is a very common tactic of the elites and designed to fool the gullible.

The facts are that the planet is warming up and that the majority of scientists agree that we are contributing to it.

I may not be a scientist but I am well aware of the effects global warming is having on the planet. Ice caps melting, freak weather, floods, tornadoes, ect... around the world. Milder winters. Yes it snowed in Texas but in Canada they have had record warm temperatures. And in Russia the same, so over all there seems to be something going on. Then you hear about increased shark attacks, giant squids surfacing, Jelly fish swarms in the shallows, coral reefs dying off, all cause by a warming of the oceans. These things cannot be denied. We have flowers blooming months in advance.

1) Overall, there is not something going on. Temperatures have not exceeded 1998. As the information being made public now is showing... the medieval period was warmer than today.

1) cherry picking two countries does not show the global picture. THE GLOBAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURES HAVE NOT INCREASED IN 12 YEARS. Your cherry picking two countries is just as ignorant as the 'we got snow earlier than ever in TX' post.

2) LMAO... all the floods worldwide? Please show us your data that reveals floods are more widespread over the last decade than in previous decades. Floods have been occurring for millennium.

I understand the fact that big oil does indeed try to fight anything that may hurt their bottom line. i do not doubt for a second that there is fudging going on from them as well.

That said, there is no data that supports AGW... as you yourself have stated.

We need to re-focus our time, money and intellectual capacity onto reducing the use of fossil fuels and cleaning up our pollution. What we don't need is a continued waste of resources pretending man is causing the earth to warm and that CATASTROPHE is right around the corner. That sort of fear mongering is destructive to the cause of a cleaner environment.

If we set out the rational reasons for reducing pollution... the ones that will resonate with the average person, that will have a far greater benefit to a cleaner environment than the constant 'chicken little' bullshit we are hearing from the AGW crowd.

I agree with your last paragraph 100%. Which is why we all need to call out the bullshit artists on both sides and prosecute those that have committed fraud. We need to retake control of this issue from the idiots on the two extremes.

Suppressing information does not make the opponent right, it simply makes the one suppressing the information wrong to do so. There is no evidence at ALL that supports AGW. None.

As Lorax stated, the two extremes have done such a good job clouding the issue that most people don't know what to believe anymore. Bottom line, they are both full of shit and trying to profit as much as they can from this. The actions they each prefer are detrimental to the well being of the population of this planet... for different reasons of course, but both are detrimental.

Again... link to your 'unprecedented' levels of natural disasters. Simply stating that does not make it so. Show us the data that suggests hurricanes, earth quakes, tsunamis, etc... are on your so called 'up swing'.

As far as pollution affecting ocean life etc... yes, that is a problem and one we need to address. But that does not mean we are 'warming the planet'.

1) Yes you moron... cherry picking TWO countries, regardless of their size is indeed CHERRY PICKING. We are TALKING about GLOBAL WARMING. ON average the global temperatures are not rising and have not been rising for over a decade.

2) Stating a bunch of google searches and then telling others to go find the studies you are referring to is NOT supporting your position. LINK the actual studies here if they are so easy to google. Again... natural disasters have been occurring since the earth formed. Show us the DATA that demonstrates your assertion that they are at 'unprecedented' levels. Articles that simply blame 'global warming' are just nonsense if they don't have the data to support them.
