God is not great

It is still a belief in . . . nothing.

Again, incorrect. It is not an active belief in anything. It is merely the same feeling you have about the existence of the Blorgmaflump. You simply fail to believe in it.

That is not an active DISBELIEF in something.

I will agree there is a sub-set of atheists called "Explicit Atheists" who take it one step further and actively state "There is no God" but that's logically impossible to prove so it is easy enough to dismiss it as a less-than-accurate depiction of atheism qua atheism.

Hitchens used to be a frequent panelist on Bill Maher's show,
which I stopped watching several years ago.

It was hard to decipher his political world view because
he held views not commonly held together.

I wasn't even aware he died, although I may have just forgotten.
He went to hell. Not my call to make, but I bet he did.
He's FUBAR for eternity.

You are being fatuous. You cannot divorce yourself from "Explicit Atheism". Yes, it is unable to be proved, so you just skip the logic of that. Stop the hypocrisy.

Believe or don't believe what you want (I am all for your right to do that), but don't ignore that it is an act of faith on your parts because it is logically impossible to prove that God does not exist. It's honest.
