This may not mean much to non-golfers, but Golf Digest editorialized the following:

The PGA of America needs to move the 2022 PGA Championship from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.

It needs to announce the decision today and make it very clear: We want nothing to do with soon-to-be-former President Donald J. Trump.

This is no longer a political issue; it is no longer a case of taking a side with one political party or another. This is about a man who encouraged—all but ordered—his supporters to attempt some sort of clumsy coup d’etat on the United States government. This is about a man who, even AFTER finally telling his supporters it was time to leave the U.S. Capitol following one woman’s death and the Capitol building itself—a major part of our country’s history—had been severely damaged, tweeted: “We love you. You’re very special.”

Excellent. Politics was the only reason the PGA scheduled it there to begin with.

Golf Digest ran the article but that wasn't a Golf Digest editorial, it was written by John Feinstein. I've read a number of Feinstein's books, and he's an excellent writer, but he's also a huge liberal. And he starts of with saying the reason golf should do this isn't political, but then goes into a litany of left-wing political positions. An argument can definitely be made for why the PGA should move this tournament but as he goes into all his left-wing talking points on other issues he's not helping himself win people over as I see it.

Not a rhetorical question, what were the politics of it? To my knowledge the agreement was signed in 2014. Did they know was going to become President in a couple of years and were trying to cozy favor?

Can’t blame them

Mr. Owl made the comment the other day that he can't figure out why the Trump brats and the Toadstool himself are poisoning their brand. Don't they understand that by aligning themselves with crackpots and anarchists they're poisoning their own well?

Numerous golf tournaments have been pulled from trump's failing courses since he was elected.

I'm quite sure this one will be moved, and there will never be another at one of his courses.

Perhaps a fake charity event that he holds, but that's about it.

OUCH! That's gotta hurt since golf course are one of Trump's main investments. Trump would make more money, or at least avoid losing money, by taking his name off of all of his investments.

Who wants to be associated with a crazed, wannabe dictator and murderer?

PGA cancels plans to play 2022 championship at Trump golf course

(CNN Business)The 2022 PGA Championship will not be played at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, according to an announcement from PGA of America President Jim Richerson Sunday night.

Golf courses have been poor investments for a long time. They are, however, very good for money laundering. Trump pulled a ton of cash out of Russia and bought a bunch of golf courses for cash. You figure it out. It isn't difficult.

They seem to be, for Dotard.

President Donald Trump's golf club in West Palm Beach has asked Palm Beach County to defer some of the $88,338 monthly rent it pays to lease public land for the president’s private golf club, citing hardships caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In a June 5 letter to the county, the club’s finance director, Ed Raymundo, cited the “significant impact” caused by county’s order shutting parks and golf courses during the pandemic. The March 25 order coincided with the “busiest part of our season,” Raymundo wrote.

The county and its Department of Airports, which both hold leases on Trump’s 27-hole golf club on airport property, have taken no action on the club’s request for rent relief, according to county officials. The club has paid rent through June.

Trump signed a lease with the county in 1996 and 2002, after a long and controversial lawsuit over the land. The 99-year lease agreement requires Trump to make monthly payments that had increased over the years to $54,534 for the main 18-hole golf course and $33,804 for the smaller, nine-hole course.

Sure, the "Billionaire" needs rent relief?

Then his companies get PPP loans?

Businesses at properties owned by the Trump Organization and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner's family reportedly received more than two dozen Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans worth more than $3.65 million.

An analysis by NBC News of Small Business Administration (SBA) data released Tuesday night found that millions of dollars were given to businesses located at Trump Organization and Kushner Companies properties that pay rent to the two companies.

NBC reported that 15 of those properties self-reported that after receiving the PPP loans, they kept only one employee, did not keep any employees or did not report how many workers they retained.
