Today in American money, sports, and fame are worshiped, but in so diverse a society, some do really good things and like Jonas Salk do it for more than just money or fame.

Hero worship of scientists was a big pop-culture phenomenon right after WWII, but began to die down after 5 years. During that short timespan, however, they were just as big as basketball players and quarterbacks...

Thomas Edison was a great publicist who hardly invented anything. He was good at electrocuting elephants though! Tesla was the real genius.

 
a good reminder of the people that advance the human condition rather than seek to tear it down

it is my hope that education and research save the species, but i am not betting on it
 
Wouldn't you love to be able to see the research journals and information the gov't confiscated from Tesla's labs and hotel rooms?

I hear you. Take Southernman. An irrascabile grouch he may be but he builds waste water treatment plants and his work has saved many thousands of lives and improved the quality of live of many thousands more. He certainly deserves props for his dedication.

If he wouldn't have, someone would have taken his place. A pro-human would've definitely been far better for society than this nonhuman piece of shit that deserve to be terminated at the first opportunity by a human.
