The big one is right around the corner.. this latest scandal may well prove to be the 'ol proverbial straw ... you know the one that breaks the camels back?

If there was ever a time for the Pubs to come to the defense of the White House.. this could be one ... considering that Clinton fired all 93 US Attorneys upon his arrival. But like the reports say.. it was done upon his arrival and done swiftly... within his right. Where the Bush White House used greasy tactics. But.. the Clinton record is a good defense for the Pubs to stick by Bush.. yet for the most part they remain silent and some have taken to the podium of criticism. Why? I think its finally over... the big split is upon us... Congressional Pubs see the writing on the wall..and I think in the immediate future more and more will speak openly against this administration ...against the War, against the abuse of power, against anything and everything. It is a matter of survival ...

Shoot... all they need to do is feel the pulse of America... why do you think a Liberal is leading by wide margin in the Republican Presidential Polls? It wasnt too long ago that McCain was the clear favorite... yet it is pretty clear that his Pro Bush stance on the War is killing him at the polls.

America in large part is against this War because there is just one too many scandals tied to the War.. and its by products aka Patriot Act, Bogus War Contracts,Lost Money and Justice Tampering. It has taken time to resonate through the power of partisan thinking ... but there is one too many paths that run through scandal avenue and right at the front door steps of the White House.

I truly believe that Congressional Pubs are ready to follow a new path...and it is a clear opening for the Anti Bush Republican Candidate to step forward.

Bought off? You mean he delayed his announcement.... thats all... he said he is going to wait until mid summer.. Could be good stratagy..wait until the Pubs begin a big anti bush shift... and then jump in... he then avoids any early criticism for his Anti Iraq War Stance.

And is raising money for his senate re-election...
He just seemed to change his tone all of a sudden....

Interestingly Ron Paul announced his decision the very same day.. I find it strange... maybe its all part of the plan. Setting up an eventual Hagel/Paul stratagy. These two guys are moving in an opposite direction of the partisan machine...to be able to sift through the nonsense they need to plan accordingly..

You could be onto something there. Too early to tell. I could be a smart move, but they are waiting to see how unpopular Bush will get.

How vunerable will Paul and Hagel be from their voting record on supporting bush ? I am not familiar with their voting records at all.

I believe Paul voted against (WAR) right from the beginning ..and Hagel...well you know all about his situation.

I am more interested on the other votes ie spending and such than the war votes, most every one wussed and voted for the war.

Paul doesn't. In fact Paul is more anti-war than the vast majority of democrats. He flat out says this war is illegal. Not some mealy mouther bullshit "Well I don't like the way the war is being run."

Yeah, I like most fo what paul is writing lately, but how did what he writes match up with how he has voted under the Bush regeim ?

Paul votes procedurally with Republicans. Everything else he pretty much votes with the constitution as his guide. I believe the guy has more nay votes than anyone. His nickname is Dr. No.

H emight do well then if he has "stuck to his guns" and not followed along behind Bush.

The guy is extremely obstinate. The Republican's won't give him any comittee assignments because they see him as a pain in the ass.

People always make fun of us libertarians because of how much we like the guy. But to me he's the real deal and everything a politician should be.

Ok go ahead now make fun.

I am not making fun of Ron Paul, I like his positions (most of) he has written lately, he is a moderate libertarian. Not like the nuts that run from jail and such :)

No they don't make fun or Paul. They make fun of people like me for liking the guy too much.

Lady T and Rob especially love to rib me on this.
