Thusly, instead of 25 vaccine manufacturers like we used to have almost 30 years ago, we have now dwindled to five.
Making the influenza vaccine is an extremely complex process, and usually begins in February and can take up to six months. Unfortunately, there are only a few vaccine manufacturers who even make influenza vaccine. They are using 50 year old technology to do so because there is ZERO financial incentive (read PROFIT) to innovate and come up with a better mousetrap.
So we are left with guessing each year as to what the stains might be and if they are wrong, people die.
