Gov Protects Freedoms while Mandating Behavior

If you read the article you can find the governor's name. In an attempt to keep this from becoming a blindly partisan name-calling thread, I thought I would take it out.

So, in the name of individual freedoms, the gov declared what business can't do regarding COVID. Specifically, he outlawed any business from requiring documentation from consumers prior to receiving service.

""""Specifically, businesses are not allowed to require customers or patrons to produce "documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or post-transmission recovery to gain access to, entry upon, or service from the business.""""

I am honestly trying to understand how preventing an owner of a large theater from requiring vaccinations for potential customers is protecting individual freedoms. Sure the customer is protected, maybe, but the business owner is being over-regulated, no?

"""(The gov) said in the order that vaccine passports "reduce individual freedoms."""

To be honest, I find this a very complicated issue. I don't have a strong opinion on the "passports". I understand and respect both sides of the issue.

That said, anytime the words individual freedoms and mandate are used in the same order it causes me to pause.

I am wondering what others think.
