You wouldn’t think that White House officials would need to follow the president around to make sure that he doesn’t destroy documents that belong to the public record – but Omarosa Manigault Newman says that task was part of the job in the Trump administration. “We did a very big briefing about presidential records and management,” Newman says. “And we had been told that if you’re with the president and he throws something away or he hands you something, you have to account for that.” This follows the revelation this week that some documents from the Trump White House were sent to the National Archives taped back together or still ripped up in pieces. “There are certainly things that I’m sure that cannot be accounted for because Donald Trump became very, very aware that a lot of these sensitive docs would at some point be made public.”

Last week it was reported that when the House select committee investigating Jan. 6 finally got their hands on an avalanche of Trump-era White House documents — which Trump had tried and failed to block — a good number of them had been torn up and taped back together by poor staffers. Some weren’t even taped back together. Turns out the former president had a habit of ripping up documents — illegally, as it turns out. But now we’re learning that that habit was even worse than previously thought.

he was breaking a law. Specifically he was breaking the Presidential Records Act, which dictates that any official White House documentation must be preserved in the National Archive. Trump was repeatedly admonished for this practice, but — Trump being Trump — he always ignored them, evidently figuring he was above the law.

What amazes me the most on this subject is how Trump fans fail to recognize how shitty a manager Trump proved to be; he made several shitty picks of "best people", he let the Democrats steal the election from him and he picked a Christian to be VP.

trump was the first president elect since the Civil War to refuse to meet with veterans groups. he sent "Omarosa" instead, saying she would handle it very well. Does she retroactively carry no credibility with you?
