I never said it didn't work I said it's not a good long term plan for a better life. THATS what I said. The problem with playing the victim is you have to remain a victim otherwise people will expect more from you. That is why victimhood is deadly to the black community but the guy in the OP article isn't a victim. He's a builder.
I'm just glad that you and I can agree on certain things.
I don't like the victim thing either- when it's an exaggeration or a preposterous untruth.
However, I do believe in the term victim, and I believe there are true victims in the world.
For instance, Ronald Reagan was a victim- He was a victim of gun violence, and every innocent one that was ever shot with a gun was also!
I can remember when Black People were actual victims of just being Black- like Black women- who weren't allowed to vote because of the Black Crow laws still on the books throughout the south in 1965 when congress passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965- that made the Jim Crow Laws illegal in all 50 states.
Like Black Men who were not allowed to vote or even be Free Men until after the civil war.
And it is still obvious today that Black People are victims to racism, voter suppression, racial profiling, and police brutality- STILL TO THIS DAY!! It's still in the news most every day to prove it still exists.
And I also believe that when you are born into poverty, you can become a victim of poverty- regardless to race!
And I believe one can become a victim of man-made, national, natural, or weather disasters.
I also believe people can become victim's to lies, fake news, and conspiracy theories.
I believe that people can also become victims of their very own hatred expressed towards others.
People can become victims of their very own actions or in-actions!
And, to prove that I have examples of my very own actions that caused me to victimize myself, I'll just say......
Never fry bacon in the nude, and Never! I say Never spray cologne on your balls! [Geeko Sportivo]
