APP - Here is a nice article that puts Trumps meeting with Comey into perspective

Teflon Don

I'm back baby
Now bear in mind that this comes from the Washington Post so at least for this week they are IMPECCABLE

"The FBI in late December reviewed intercepts of communications between the Russian ambassador to the United States and retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn — national security adviser to then-President-elect Trump — but has not found any evidence of wrongdoing or illicit ties to the Russian government, U.S. officials said."

"Although Flynn’s contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak were listened to, Flynn himself is not the active target of an investigation, U.S. officials said. The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that U.S. counterintelligence agents had investigated the communications between Flynn and Kislyak."

So according to the Washington Post, weeks before Trump met with Comey, it is publicly reported that the FBI reviewed Flynn's communications and found no wrong doing. It also states that Flynn himself is not the active target of an investigation.

So this begs the question. If Flynn is NOT the active target of an investigation, then how could Trump obstruct justice by shutting down an investigation that doesn't exist?

You need to understand what the FBI means by "Active target" and how others are often indicted even when they were not the active target. There was an open investigation into Flynns activities even if Flynn was not the "active target".

But they said there was nothing in the recordings, so what is there to investigate?
