Rock band Guns N’ Roses invited fans at their Wednesday night show in Mexico City to join the band onstage and take swings at a giant piñata effigy of Republican President-elect Donald Trump.
TMZ.com posted video on Saturday of the piñata’s destruction at the hands of gleeful Mexican fans.
“Let’s bring in some people, and give them a f*cking stick,” said lead singer Axl Rose [née Bill Bailey]. “I want you to express yourselves, however you feel.”
“Hit him in the head!” Rose encouraged the fans as the band played a cover of Bob Dylan’s 1973 song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.”
At Trump’s campaign announcement ceremony in 2015, the former reality TV star said that immigrants from Mexico “are bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime.” He called them rapists, drug dealers and criminals and promised to erect a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico as part of his appeal to white nationalists and racist Republicans.
