Apparently it was some "rogue agents" in the Gestapo that rounded up all the Jews and slaughtered them. There was no evidence that Hitler ever verbalized to put them in gas chambers. There are not tapes of conversations. There are no letters. There is no real documentation that Hitler even knew about it.
I mean he was running a country and fighting a war, how could he know everything that was going on in his administration. Surely, he would have been offended if he knew what was happening. I mean, yeah he demonized the Jews every chance he got. He blamed them for all of the ills that befell Germany, but he never called for them to be put in gas chambers and exterminated.
No, it was low level staffers in Poland that did all of the dirty work all on their own, unbeknownst to Hitler himself. Tragic.
