Dear Future Homeowner,
It has come to my attention that you are currently in the market for a new house in your area. As you know, home prices are still currently inflated due to investors limiting supply and unnaturally driving up the market over the last few years. This has resulted in a most unfavorable scenario for those of us who are in the market, most notably first time buyers. Well, it’s our turn. Let’s fight back. Homes shouldn’t be played like the stock market – they should be lived in. Let’s move to get home prices back in check and make them affordable. Follow these simple rules:
1) In general offer 60% of the asking price based on average home prices for that area and that number of bedrooms and bathrooms – not the asking price.
2) On new construction, offer 50% or leave it alone.
3) Refuse to make an offer until home prices become reasonable and affordable again.
4) Most importantly refuse to buy from Joe-Schmo wanna be Donald Trump. These a-holes are the ones that have helped to screw us over big time during the “boom”
If we all follow these rules, we will once again be able to afford decent housing. Remember, you are the market.
