It's always been there. MAGA is just its latest name and its latest excuse to crawl out from under its rocks.

The reality is that even without government coercion, it's never been OK to take a critical look at America in America.
We've always valued nationalist chauvinism over true patriotism.
As a result, our most toxic social infections just fester until they come to the surface.

Other than that, your post reeks of b.s. Just one example: Atheism is not a religion; it is just the opposite. America and its laws are secular in nature, and we intend to keep it that way.

If you want to live in a theocracy, you can probably get a nice apartment in Tehren for a reasonable price. You'll love it there. All the media is controlled by an authoritarian, religious government like you long for. LGBTQ, liberals, protesters and anyone who doesn't toe the line gets jailed or executed.
