Now they aren’t wrong that if we (America) are to ever get serious about our debt that you can’t take entitlements off the table. They will have to be addressed.

I appreciate that I cut out my Medicare about a year and a half ago.If you appreciate your Social security, Medicare, disability benefits, vote for the party that hates them!
Unfortunately I had to learn how almost useless it was by going over my EOB’s for the two years before I got rid of it.

Since I was young Democrats have claimed Republicans were going to end S.S. and Medicare and yet somehow not only are they still in existence, they continue to grow. If someone who didn't like those programs supported Republicans because they thought they would get rid of them then they are the true definition of low information voter.

I'm not sure you actually read the article you posted because I repeat, it stated nothing of any proposals going to Congress. It simply stated the fact that anyone serious about addressing debt must address entitlements. People putting their head in the sand upon hearing that doesn't change the facts.

You are correct although technically Congress could change that. (They of course won't, hence it being called the third rail of politics. But it doesn't stop politicians from using it as a scare tactic.)
The reality is if we do nothing, the 'trust fund' will be depleted by 2033 or 2034 and benefits will be automatically cut by 20 or 25%. But instead of acknowledging that now and doing something about it we (America) chooses to pretend it doesn't exist and will wait until 2033 it seems.

There is nothing to "envy" about the cost of groceries, gas and everyday items in this country. However, we do miss the Trump years where everything was much more affordable and wages were actually going up and not down.
