How much energy goes into hating or disliking someone for whatever reason?

I know life is too short, but a lot of us do it sometimes unconsciously. We find ourselves trying to figure things out when there are no answers. It can be so exhausting, even when you don't really have the time to.

Oh that's an excellent question. I think it takes a considerable amount of energy to hate and the really sad part is that it is completely wasted energy.

I don't know. I have a hard time holding a grudge longer than 20 seconds. Are you saying I'm lazy?

Typically, this is my hateflow and what becomes of it:

Something (usually political) angers/irks me --> I become hateful --> I become in need to regain my calm --> I become weary and disappointed of humanity and of myself --> I trivialize everything, including the original offense --> Coldness --> Humor/Sarcasm --> Back to usual self
