I was led to believe that Romney wouldn't pull the soldiers out of Afghanistan so most likely the military, or at least the grunts, would be voting for Obama anyway.

Tom, you are completely off your nut. The military will overwhelmingly vote for Romney.

Given the choice, would most of the boots on the ground in Afghanistan vote to stay there post 2014? I speak as one that thinks there will be chaos when the troops go in 2014.

Tom, has Romney indicated he would keep troops there past 2014? I think one thing many Republicans have been asking is, why the hell are we still there now? There is no clear objective, we don't have any sort of plan or exit strategy, and the anti-war liberal left has simply forgotten about this since Obama became president. I know that I have said, since the day Obama was sworn in, that the troops need to come home. Why haven't they? If we're not going to aggressively go after alQaeda and fight a war on terrorism, there is no need for them to be there. But Obama, contrary to his campaign rhetoric, has actually EXPANDED the Bush Doctrine, launching drone attacks in three other Arab countries. Apparently, Muslims don't mind being bombed by a Democrat, it's only Republican bombs that make them hate us more.

Historically, the military votes Republican. I think it was something like 70% for Bush in 2000 and 2004, as well as McCain in 2008. I don't see some massive change which has transpired over the last 4 years that would cause them to suddenly love Obama. It's certainly not his constant drumbeat to cut military funding. I can't imagine the liberal loathing and disdain for all things military, being a catalyst for support from said military, but apparently you can. I just think you're a dumb ass...with all due respect.

"I know that I have said, since the day Obama was sworn in, that the troops need to come home."

How telling.

Whatever.

Why would anyone support our troops being in Afghanistan without a mission objective and without any sort of a plan? With Bush, there was a plan, there was a mission objective, we were aggressively going after alQaeda and fighting the war on terrorism. I was all for that, but with Obama and the rhetoric he espoused during his campaign, my opinion changed. If we're not going to have a clear objective and plan, why keep them in harms way? Furthermore, why the hell aren't you all still livid and demanding the troops come home? It's like you hypocrites completely abandoned the whole "anti-war" thing, as soon as your guy was elected, and you've not returned since. It doesn't matter one iota to you, that he has expanded the Bush Doctrine, that he is now bombing 3 more countries... as I have proven, you idiots don't even know who those three countries are! You can't name them! It simply does not matter to you, it never did, you just USED this to bash and rail on Bush.

You know, I firmly believe, had McGovern defeated Nixon, and we had been 'blessed' with Democrat presidents since then, we'd STILL BE IN VIETNAM! You people are the most two-faced hypocritical creatures on the planet!

You have it backwards. Most military gruns want to make career out of the military and since Repubs spend money like drunken sailors, whether it's needed or not, on the military, they tend to vote Republican.

LOL @ Yurt.....I love the smell of desperation in the morning...smell like.....victory! :)

You are deluded. Obama is finished. This is going to be a wipeout. Benghazigate is going to take your boy down and the senate with if the dems aren't careful.

Do they dutifully stay in his sinking ship or save themselves?
