Donald Trump's tactics of intimidation and harassment have fundamentally reshaped the Republican Party, purging officials and lawmakers perceived as disloyal. Following his impeachment in 2021, many Republican officials, such as Congressman Tom Rice, faced severe backlash for their votes against Trump, including death threats and harassment from Trump supporters. Trump has publicly targeted over 100 Republicans on his Truth Social platform, leading to primary defeats for many who opposed him.
Trump's endorsements have become a powerful tool to drive out dissent within the party, with only a few of the 10 Republican House members who voted to impeach him remaining in office. The atmosphere of fear has resulted in many Republicans feeling pressured to conform to Trump's agenda, leading to a party largely united behind him as he seeks the presidential nomination again. Despite the risks of alienating moderate Republicans, Trump continues to pursue a strategy of purging the party of those who do not align with his views, often amplifying threats and intimidation through social media and right-wing influencers.
Actually, what this is, folks, is the rise of the cult of Trump.
Now, of course, not all Trump fans are 'culties', but, this is for those of you who are, and only you can know this.
I realize for some you it might be offensive, and I don't really mean it to be, but it's unavoidable, perhaps. See, way back in the late 60s early 70s when I was in a cult, someone told me, and I didn't like it, but I eventually realized the criticism I was receiving was, indeed, correct, and it helped me extricate myself from the mental manipulation the cult had on me (You'd be surprised how much L. Ron Hubbard and Donald Trump have in common).
Thing, is, it may be the case and you not only don't know it, you will deny it, not agree with me on this point. it took me awhile to come around and admit it. Okay, it was probably easier for me given that it was my mother telling me about it, since she was in a cult back in the 50s, and I'm just some anonymous person on the internet. But, ll I ask is that you try, if at all possible, and be honest with yourselves. I've been there, myself, and, as such, I feel I can write on the subject with a modicum of authority.
It's not about fealty to the flag, or America, or the American idea, or democracy, no.........
It's all about heaping praise on Trump.
Trump is the MAGA cult leader. This is the indisputable, immutable, incontrovertible, undeniable, indefatigable fact, in my view.
Trump is also a very sick man. He's been diagnosed by a number of psychiatrists and psychologists with 'malignant narcissism', and as a sociopath.

When U.S. congressman Tom Rice voted to impeach Donald Trump for inciting the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, it was the beginning of the end of his political career.
Angry calls and emails – including three death threats – flooded the South Carolina Republican’s office. The next year, as Rice ran for a sixth term, a sheriff’s deputy often guarded him at public events. Trump backed Rice’s foe in the party’s primary election. At a rally, the ex-president warned voters that the congressman “partnered with the Democrats to stab the Republican Party and, frankly, to stab our country in the back.”
Rice got crushed in the primary. Today, the one-time conservative darling, a small-government fiscal hawk, is shunned by former allies and some old friends, he told Reuters. He feels betrayed by fellow Republicans who, “rather than upholding their oath and defending the Constitution, decided their position and their power was worth more.”
In cementing his third-straight Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump and his staunchest followers have used menace and harassment to fundamentally reshape the party of Reagan, purging officials and activists seen as insufficiently loyal to Trump and his Make America Great Again agenda. Trump has imposed this fealty at every level of the party, from minor state and local officials to members of Congress, cabinet secretaries and rivals for the presidency, calling for revenge on those who resist his demands, vote against his interests or cross his allies.

Under George Bush, the executive grew more powerful than ever; under Donald Trump, conservatives will come to regret it.
