How will Trump "spin" his loss over border wall funding?

There is Little doubt at this point that Trump will get far less than his 5 BILLION dollars requested for The Wall unless there is some DACA deal included. With a Federal Judge temporarily keeping DACA in place, that is very unlikely. In essence, there is no DACA urgency at this point.

So, with Trump demanding 5 BILLION in funding, accepting anything substantially less will be considered a BIG LOSS and not a SUCCESFUL NEGOTIATION by most. That said, I can only imagine (while simultaneously chuckling) how Trump and Sarah - with their pathological lying tendencies - will spin this to appease his base.

My guess is that is will be some hogwash similar to the following: "The 5 BILLION was just a starting place folks. All negotiations consist of "back and forth" and you need a starting place. ALWAYS start high, then come down. Don't worry, the REST of the money will come for the wall. I promised you a Wall and one WILL be built and one way or another Mexico WILL pay for the Wall".

Or some similar nonsensical (a.k.a bullhockey) response that the Trump Base will lap up like a hungry kitten finding a warm bowl of milk.
 
So how will the dems spin it if they give any money for a wall when Nancy and Chuck said $0?

BTW, that money is coming from Tax Payers ... not Nancy

Trump says the new trade deal with Mexico saves more than enough for America's balance of payments with Mexico to pay for the wall. I reckon it's up to y'all lefties to prove him wrong, huh?

We wouldn't need a wall if we remove the reason why they come here. Punish those who hire them. Evidently we are lax enforcing the current laws.
 
The border wall is bullshit...not truly a move toward border security at all...merely a silly campaign promise gone ape shit.

Nancy Pelosi is using "0" as a new starting point...so that the (approximately) $1.6 billion in the original bill passed by the Senate will not form her side's "starting point" for new negotiations.

The Democrats should plan to stick with the $1.6...but arriving there from zero. Let Trump start from $5 billion and end up at $1.6 (which is all I think he is going to get)...and he should have no trouble selling that as a huge triumph to his base...who are the dumbest, most gullible people on the planet. Trump knows they will buy it.

It becomes a win/win.

If the Democrats truly want to put a hurt on Trump...they can allow the number to come up to $1.7 billion. That will make Trump look even more like a chump than sticking with the $1.6.

Reagan is dead so we can't punish him for the emergency room law. Undocumented immigrants cannot get "welfare." Children can't be enrolled without a birth certificate.

And all the ER has to do is stabilize and ship. Usually it is just more cost efficient to treat.

Well if Trump says that, it must be so. he would never lie. Trump knows nothing about the economics of the nation. He went in knowing nothing and has not moved that needle very much.
 
There will be no wall. But I am sure Trump had a gathering of staff and asked them what is the best way to save face because Mexico is not paying a dime for that wall. There is no wall and will be no wall. So they decided slats. Not that big beautiful 30 foot concrete wall he promised. They knew Trumps followers would buy in 100 percent. Then, what about the money? Easy, just claim the great, super duper trade deal will pay for it. They knew almost all Americans would laugh, but he knew his fans would buy in 100 prercent. And this board shows that. Trumpies are parroting that lying crap like it is the 11th commandment. Trump said that was one of the first things he would do. Another lie. Over 2 years, not a scrap of wall.
When did Trump say American taxpayers will pay for the wall that is about him in the end? He guaranteed Mexico would pay it. Now he cannot get the money from us either. It's only 5 billion. He should pay for it. He says he is rich enough, and if he really believes the wall will make us safer, he can just do it. He says he knows about building. Let him prove it.
