How would this loss help Republicans going forward?

Boris The Animal

It's Just Boris!
Again I say, Trump is basically a writeoff, but going forward, how the hell will this loss help the GOP going forward? What would you like to see in terms of a viable opposition? For me, it wasn't about Trump, but Conservatism in general. In particular, not the milquetoast limp noodle version of the Romneys, McCains, and Bushes. But solid and strong Conservatism. I think the accomplishment of breaking the minority monopoly the Dems have had, albeit a small one, was big. Do I still see the beginnings of a paradigm shift? I do. It may take decades to do so, but I think if the GOP sticks to "bread and butter" issues, then we have a winner going forward.

What you're seeing now is the "bread and butter" issue of Conservatism. It's all about maintaining power, nothing else matters.
One of the few policies I agree with the Right on is states' rights, but look at how quickly Conservatives throw that away when it benefits them.

GOP is leading an insurrection in Congress as we speak.

Sorry, but the Left are just as guilty, if not more guilty of it than that. Hence the issue with the elections in the first place. I really don't give a crap about Trump. but I do give a crap about how this country's federal government has gotten way too big for its breeches.

What left-wing policies give more power to the 1%?

Globalism and free trade. Sorry, but blue collar voters are gravitating towards the GOP.

What "globalist" policies do you mean?

Neither side actually wants free trade. Both have regulations regarding trade, they regulations just differ.

The one thing the Left does that actually does give the 1% more power is third world immigration. But every other policy gives more power to the 99%. With the Right, literally every one of their policies is about enriching the Elites.
