The only constant in this universe is change, yes that applies to the traditional defination of marriage.

If it does not happen in this generation of Americans it will with the next.

Back to Huckabee, I never said he should be disqualified from running for president. I simply said he does not understand the constitution if he is using "what his God wants" as a reason for legislation.

no, actually Loving didn't change the definition of marriage.....both sides acknowledged what marriage meant, they just refused to permit it between people of different races......same sex marriages requires both a permission from the government and a redefinition of marriage...

Nope, to the majority of the people of Virginia Marriage ment the union of a man and a woman of the same race. Loving changed that legal defination.

I did not make it up, he said it, read the begining of this thread.

Ugh... change the subject, stall, then pretned you forgot what the argument was about.... how far will social conservatives go to prevent a real discussion about the subject.

if that's the case they wouldn't have need laws prohibiting marriage between members of different races would they?.....

we do not currently have laws which say people of the same sex cannot marry, it was simply never contemplated that they would.....the law needs to be re-written to contemplate marriages between those of the same sex...that was not true of marriages between a black man and a white woman......that was conceivable, but prohibited by law....marriage between a man and a man has not been conceivable until now......
