Ladies and gentlemen, Rudolf Giuliani:

WASHINGTON - A supporter of Rudy Giuliani's is throwing a party that aims to raise $9.11 per person for the Republican's presidential campaign.

Abraham Sofaer is having a fundraiser at his Palo Alto, Calif., home on Wednesday, when Giuliani backers across the country are participating in the campaign's national house party night.

But Sofaer said he had nothing to do with the "$9.11 for Rudy" theme.

i don't see whats the problem with this. presidents all thru history campaigned on there battle merits. Guliani was the general of NYC during 911. Such a great general that he was the calming voice when bush was bumbling.
 
just because he is the competition doesn't mean you take away his leadership achievements. Where was hillary clinton on 911. in fact most people in NYC talk about how she squandered 911 victim money

They do? I've never heard any such thing.

And Rudy didn't "comfort" me on 9/11. what people in ny have been talking about, and obviously you don't live here or you'd know, is Rudy's incompetence leading up to 9/11.
 
dont live in NYC but much of my family and friends do. I live in botson area and had work friend on one of those planes. One of my best friends was covered in ash that day. Another one of my best friends father a fireman was killed. I also had work relationships with some of the other victims. This was my industry and cities that were attacked.

You can hate rudy all u want but my inner circle who were effected by 911 greatly appreciate what he did during that time. Regardless if i wouldn't vote for him to be president. I would never take away his service.

Rudy gets the credit he does because of the unfathomable leadership vacuum we had that day.

We're hurting if the best we can do for leadership is not appearing frozen while holding a copy of "My Pet Goat"....
 
So like i said. I dont take anything away from him durring that time in American history. Does that make him automatic president. absolutely not. its a different job completely.

In terms of the firemen and police against guliani. Same thing as the vets against kerry. I didnt like them either. is a shitty thing to do and karma sucks.

It's nothing like the Kerry thing.

The facts are that Guiliani was told by his own expert not to locate the office of emergency management in the WTC because it was a terrorist target. He did it anyway. And, even though we had already had a terrorist attack here, the radios between the firemen and the police officer were still not coordinated 8 years after the first attack. Those firemen died because no one could tell them the buildings were going to come down. The cops knew, the firemen did not. He's hated by a lot of those guys.
 
Rudy sucks. It's shameless what he's doing w/ 9/11, and if I have to hear another 4 or 8 years of "they hate us for our freedoms" and "we have to take the fight to them there so we won't have to fight 'em here," I'm heading out for Toronto...

I'm not really criticizing his leadership in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 but soliciting donations of $9.11 is just plain tasteless. Afterall, he's already made millions off th tragedy and is using it to prop up his otherwise horrible campaign for the presidency. Every other statement out of his mouth is 9/11. Hell, he even pegged his flip flop on gun rights to 9/11.

It's just tasteless and disgusting.

Piffle. An orangutan could have done as much as Julie did under the circumstances. Hell, the orang probably wouldn't have gotten in the way as often clinging to photo-ops.

My imagination would much rather Paris, but for practical reasons I am seriously contemplating Canada. I can't take it again either...not joking at all.
