Ok, one for you linguistics out there. So many LinkedIn posts I see start with "I am humbled by the nomination to/for (and lists some group or award)". Or "I am humbled to receive this big assignment".
I always thought of humble to mean something like "we went into the game over confident and got our *sses kicked, that was a humbling experience". Not so much starting with humble to then brag about something you've done.
What say you?
