I cut in line today... is that wrong?

So, at the Palm Beach County Courthouse, North County Courthouse there is an unwritten rule that attorneys can cut the often very long security line. You still have to go into the metal detector, you just dont have to wait in line.

As a rule I do not cut, it just does not seem fair or right. Today the line was out into the street and I was not early as I usually am... It was pouring down rain... I broke my rule and cut the line!

Is that wrong?

I guess you dont really have to be an attorney to cut the line, you just have to be dressed as if you are an attorney. (Suit and tie)

I think they set that rule so that attorneys who are running late can get in and stop holding up proceedings. If you don't abuse the privilege or plan to be "just late enough" to use it every time then I don't think it is wrong. Courts need to be busy, not waiting for attorneys to get through a line.

Jurors have their own entrance and exit. They don't come through the public door. I use it all the time. I am an officer of the court there on business. Regardless of whether I am running late or early, I jump to the front. One of the privledges that comes with my bar card.
