Civilization started at the micro level when the oppressed first invented language, used it to organize coalitions, and used these coalitions to team together and take the alpha male, who had been exploiting his position of strength, and put his head on a pike. Imagine the exhilaration they felt, as they paraded his head around! Imagine the feeling of being free for the first time!
I think the cycle needs to repeat itself on the macro level. Repressed people's of the earth need to team up and take on the bully. If all you're going to do is bow and whimper before strength, though, you deserve to be oppressed. If you're too stupid to free yourselves, you're not worthy of freedom.
