Except when they're mandatory. Like today. Mandatory half day. Apparently I've been "working too hard, too long, and too often". The boss feels I need more personal time.

Is an average of 60 hours a week that bad? 20 of those are overtime.

I don't know if it's legal to express that, actually. They'd have to say things like you're working too hard, etc. If the company is feeling any sort of budgetary constraints that could be behind it.

Possibly, but this is the same boss that let's me drink on the job and others smoke in the building. He's not one to fuck around with the legal end of things.
