The MAGA is cumming all over the idea of Gym Jordan becoming the new Speaker of the House.


I would love that, the more embarrassing the Right Wing is in the House, the better it will be for Democrats.

Would make it much more likely for the Democrats to take back the House.
 
Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio emerged as leading contenders to succeed Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the US House of Representatives, after the Californian was brutally removed by his own Republican party on Tuesday.

Scalise is House majority leader, Jordan chair of the powerful judiciary committee. In the aftermath of McCarthy’s defeat, both were widely reported to be making calls and sounding out support.

My vote would be for Jim Jordan too.

However the Republi'cans' pick next will again be destroyed by the infighting, as the Trumpers call for shut down and scorched earth, and the Donor class, and 90% of republi'cans' do not want that, and i cannot think of a more deserving guy than Jim, the Joke.

2024 is going to be the biggest rout in American political history. The Trump cult and their enablers will be swept away at every level. It would be funny to watch Jordan rant and rave every day from the Speakers podium, but that would pretty much guarantee a government shutdown. Who the fuck knows what these fucking idiots are going to do. Someone has already thrown out Trumps name. THAT would be fucking hilarious. But it won't happen. I think Trump is too busy.

We knew this would happen when they changed the rules about even one member being able to call for his ouster. In 200 years there has never been such a stupid rule. Again losing by 4% isn't brutal but it was expected.

When a faction of your party is a terrorist organization, it makes governing with a slim majority almost impossible. The other issue is that the only reason they are a majority is gerrymandering.

Without gerrymandering, the Republicans would not be a majority in the house, the people did not vote for them to be in charge.

The point you are missing is that the “they” are the same ones who just threw McCarthy under the bus, his cowardice in appeasing them led to his downfall

And if you don’t think condemning your colleague to history’s loser’s bin, to label him in history as a loser, isn’t brutal for a politician, especially when done by your own political party, what is
