I remember teachers of the 60's and 70's

Sounds like you're unable or unwilling to back-up what you post.

Hurkeye's back on the meth again, with multiple psycho posts that are difficult to decipher.

Today's teachers are just as dedicated, unselfish, and professional as they've always been. How do I know this? I'm the mother of one of them. How many other professions can you name where an employee with a masters degree makes less than $50K/year, spends her own money on classroom supplies, exposes herself to illness every day, takes it personally if a child is struggling, and brings her work home for several unpaid hours/week -- yet loves her job?

These posts are the ramblings of not so intelligent peons, so you have to take them with a grain of salt.

Current teachers have betrayed us.

Thin Gruel.
Wow! Nothing like lazy generalizing to ensure no point is made. All educators should be lumped together and punished because????

So if a police officer, republican representative does something illegal you support all being punished?

If not, please change your name to partisan hypocrite so everyone knows your truth.

Oh, and please define how teachers have betrayed us.

Nice work.
Teaching seems like one of those jobs people generally only do if they genuinely enjoy it. It is never going to make them wealthy, affluent, or even comfortably upper middle class

Ever notice that the only ones attacking real teachers (not those who merely pretend to the profession) are always Reichwingers? Why is that, do you think? It's almost as though they despise education and those who provide it.

No, not unless they have a spouse who makes a good salary. My daughter knew when she was only seven or so that she would be a teacher. She never wavered from that goal. And this from a child who had speech and reading disabilities in grade school. She graduated summa cum laude. We are very, very proud of her.

You should be proud.

Teaching seems like a calling, more than a career, in a way that business, sales, finance, banking aren't.

Some of the most admired people in history were teachers: Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Jesus, Siddhartha Guatama, Confucius. And none of them did it for the money.

I really cannot name any bankers who reach that level of exemplary reputation.

It's hard to understand these Reichwingers, because they're just not rational people who use logic.

WOW! What a stupid and reckless thing to say about 3.7 million K - 12 teachers and voters in America.

This is how the Republican Party loses 3.7 million people over to voting for Democrats who would never say something stupid and reckless like that, and are actually working to make their lives and jobs better, and looking after whats best for school age children already.

The Republicans and Trumptards are driving their voters away! A total political suicide!

And then they wonder why THE PEOPLE FIRED DONALD TRUMP in 2020!

This is how and why your party cannot win elections anymore.

You TRUMPTARDED idiots better learn when to just STFU!

Sadly, this is how many view education. Not based on how well we educate our kids but rather through a political lens and political power. The true focus of education should have nothing to do with what party wins elections.

I was taught to have a free mind, my children were taught to express their own opinions, and my grandchildren are raised to do that as well.

SO please do not fall into the BAT-SHIT-CRAZY RACE BAITING TRUMPTARDED Conspiracy Theory that children are being taught political bias, in any way, as teachers in our public schools here in TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS are fired for teaching children political, racial bias, religious bias, or even sexuality preference bias, in PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

It is just not allowed Sir, and teachers are fired for that!

However, this is not the case in Religious or Private schools- one of the reasons why I put my children in Public Schools!
