I really can't see that being a problem with a little bit of insulation foam around the capacitors.

Where do you get batteries for less than $90?

Anyways, I wonder how this would compare to a heavy duty deep cycle marine battery. If the comparison is favorable, I'm sure my boss would LOVE to use these in lieu of batteries.

I know, and that he planned to sell them for between $50 (cheaper than any battery I've ever had) and $100 (roughly the same price).

I just bought a battery for my car and that cost me £48 or around $75 and that was very good value.

Apparently ultra capacitors are relatively impervious to temperatures changes, as the charge is not stored chemically.

That's retail price for the caps too. I'm reasonably sure a production operation could retail these for less than $50. That's substantially less than a 12V/650 CCA battery.
